A.y. 2025/26: steps to enroll in a UniGe course Highlights Read all Read all A.Y. 2025/26: the various steps for course enrollment If you are an Italian student with a foreign qualification, or an EU or non-EU student regularly residing in Italy and you have obtained your degree in a country other than Italy, to enroll at the University of Genoa, follow these steps. STEP 1 - Pre-enrollment a.y. 2025/26 Respect the dates when you can submit your pre-enrollment application. See A.Y. 2025/26 DeadlinesFor programmed number courses: check the deadlines provided by the respective calls. Consult the page of calls with programmed numberRegistration: get credentials (if required)If you do NOT already have UniGePass credentials (student number, example S1234567, and password) to access UniGe Online Services, PROCEED with REGISTRATION.Be sure to fill in all fields with the full data, exactly as shown on your passport. USE YOUR UNIGEPASS CREDENTIALS (do not re-register) in your possession in cases:If in previous years you have already accessed UniGe Online Services.More generally, if you have previously registered and obtained UniGePass credentials (even if you have never used them to access the Online Services).Attention: Do not attempt to make multiple registrations for the same user. The insertion of incorrect personal data may cause a slowdown of the service offered and the impossibility to proceed with the saving of applications on Online Services.In case you need a password recovery, change the email address or other actions related to UniGePass credentials consult the dedicated pages https://cedia.unige.it/unigepass-studenti and https://cedia.unige.it/UniGePASSSTEP 1-A: Submission of the applicationUse UniGePass credentials to authenticate and start pre-enrollment application Read the notes carefully to correctly fill in the application: Click "submit a new application" to get started.Courses section: the chosen course must coincide with the application submitted on Universitaly and in the case of pre-selection (if required), with the course for which you have received a positive result. Information for all students: in case of a degree program (Bachelor’s degree or single cycle 5-6 years degree), mark in the options "verification exemption" > no exemption. In the case of a master’s degree course, mark in the options "date verification" > select the first available date; "curriculum requirements" > to be verified; "exemption verification" > no exemption.Profile Section: in the case of non-EU students, as you will be a resident student, you must tick the option: "I declare that I am legally resident in Italy, according to the current legislation on immigration (D.Lgs. 286/98 and ss.mm.ii.)". If this option is checked, remember that you will have to prove that you are a resident.Section Education: the fields that will be automatically filled in the case of selection of foreign diploma (or Italian diploma obtained abroad) or foreign degree must not be modified, indicate that the qualification is obtained in a foreign institution. Documents section: upload only any documents expressly requested by the selected course of study. The documents necessary to finalize the enrollment will be provided with another method upon arrival in Italy.If all the sections in the top row are no longer marked in red when you view your application, the information is complete and you can save your pre-enrollment.STEP 2-B: Final submission of pre-enrollmentCheck the status of your application and whether an action is required, depending on the wording that will appear after saving: complete: means that the application has been submitted correctly, no action is required.pending approval of the Welcome Office: the application must be reviewed by the office and it is necessary to RECEIVE YOUR DOCUMENTATION on the foreign title and (if applicable) on the stay in Italy. After sending the documents, wait for an automatic email that notifies you of the unblocking. The procedure is not immediate, wait the necessary time. Once you have received the email, go back to your pre-enrollment application on Unige Online Services and press the "save" button. The application will pass to the "complete" state, see above.incomplete: your action is required. For example, the application will be incomplete if it has been unlocked (see previous point) but you have not yet saved it again for final confirmation.with errors: the application is not submitted correctly, there is one or more errors in the compilation. An error message is reported. The errors may be due to inconsistencies found by the system on your data (for example, you are a student applying for a visa and you have incorrectly marked as a student already legally resident in Italy). Once the error has been corrected, the application must be saved again.Please note: you will always receive an automatic email that notifies you that the update (save) action you performed on your pre-enrollment application has been successfully completed.IN CASE YOUR APPLICATION IS IN THE "pending approval from the Welcome Office" STATUS, check how to provide documents to the office and required steps:DOCUMENTS TO BE SENT:Check required documents Documents to finalize enrollmentIt is advisable to provide all required documents.If you do not already have all the documents, present at least the following (MINIMUM documents to be unlocked in pre-enrollment phase):Passport (or national identity card for Italians or Community);Complete documents on the title, i.e., diploma for access to a bachelor’s or a single cycle degree, while certificate of graduation (Bachelor’s degree certificate) and transcript of records for access to a master’s degree. Diplomas may not be legalized and may not be accompanied by a declaration of value or CIMEA certificate of comparability or the Diploma Supplement. Knowledge of the language (Italian/English): certificates and tests If you intend to enroll in a course taught in Italian: all students will have to take the Italian language test and get at least level A2 (minimum level required only to complete the enrolment). Unige requires level B2. You cannot take the language test only if you have provided a certificate of knowledge of the Italian language recognized by Unige. You can also take a course independently, we point out the Centro Studi Italiani (with an office in Genoa) issuing a certificate recognized by Unige.You can find all the information on the required requirements and the Italian language tests (which you should read carefully) at the following page: Test of Italian language all students will have to take the Italian language test and get at least level A2 (minimum level required only to complete the enrolment). Unige requires level B2. You cannot take the language test only if you have provided a certificate of knowledge of the Italian language recognized by Unige. If you get it later, you can provide it during the pre-enrolment phase or later you can contact the Secretarial Offices of your School of reference to provide the certificate (you can start from corsi.unige.it, search for your course and see the contacts, or see https://unige.it/servizi/segreterie). you do not have to demonstrate the knowledge of the Italian language, you can provide a certificate of English proficiency (at least level B2) recognized by Unige or submit a document stating that English has been the medium of instruction (MOI) of the degree you have obtained. If you choose to apply for a single teaching unit You have to pre-enroll at the Italian Embassy or Consulate where you will also have to submit your grade transcript, or your diploma, or any other document issued by your Faculty for its translation, legalization and issue of the declaration of value. The University of Genoa also accepts the certificate of comparability issued by CIMEA - Centro Informazioni Mobilità Equivalenze Accademiche or the Diploma Supplement that may be presented instead of the DOV.Check out the teaching units Attention! If you have a residence permit for study purposes and decide to give up your studies, you will no longer be able to enrol in the same course or in a different course. Tuition feesTo submit a pre-evaluation application to UniGeApply (if required) you do not need to pay any registration fee.Enrolment in a course of study. The fees or student contribution are the sum of the stamp duty (16 euros), the regional tax (minimum 120 euros) and the university contribution. Tuition fees are calculated on the basis of the ISEEU that the student can apply for at a CAF upon arrival in Italy. Students receiving an Aliseo scholarship (see link in the previous section) pay only 16 euros per year of tuition fees.
