The University of Genoa is the seat of state examinations for the following professions:

• Architect, Landscape Planner, Territorial Planner, Conservator of Architectural and Environmental Heritage, Junior Architect, Junior Planner
• Social Worker Specialist, Social Worker
• Biologist, Junior Biologist
• Chemist, Junior Chemist
• Commercial Accountant
• Pharmacist
• Geologist, Geologist Iunior
• Civil and Environmental Engineer, Information Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Civil and Environmental Engineer Iunior, Information Engineer Iunior, Junior Industrial Engineer
• Surgeon (postgraduate practical-assessment training)
• Dentist
• Psychologist (D.Ministerial Decree no. 554/2022), Practical Assessment Psychologist (D.I. no. 567/2022), Doctor of Psychological Techniques for Social, Organisational and Labour Contexts, Doctor of Psychological Techniques for Personal and Community Services

The State Professional Licensing Examinations are held annually with two separate sessions. Passing the State examination is one of the prerequisites for registration with the Professional Orders.
