Promotion of employability in favor of persons with established disabilities

Premise

National and European legislation supports the employment integration of the student and student with disabilities. This positive action has resulted in the activation of support services, vocational opportunities through targeted employment, as well as tax breaks for companies and public entities that hire people with established disabilities. Briefly, we point out the regulatory framework to be considered in continuous evolution.

Liguria Region's Targeted Employment Service

The Liguria Region has prepared a web page dedicated to the theme of Targeted Employment in order to guide people with disabilities in their search for employment opportunities. There are contact details of the contact persons for the cities of Genoa, Savona, Imperia and La Spezia, and there is the possibility to consult the current legislation. Interesting is the page dedicated to the Curriculum Vitae where there are some FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions).

Services offered by the University of Genoa

Universities play an important role in providing guidance and help to male and female students who finish their studies and wish to enter the world of work.

The University of Genoa also promotes job placement for male and female students with disabilities by providing some targeted services:

• Curriculum vitae: revision service and writing tips
• Individual job guidance counseling
• Skills checklist

There are other services aimed at all students and students including:

• Job guidance workshops and webinars
• Job Orientation Seminars
• Career services for international students

Services offered by employment agencies

For a long time, a strategic role of guidance and intermediation between demand and supply of labor has been recognized to employment agencies. Agencies, easily found on the web at the link - https://www.anpal.gov.it/agenzie-per-il-lavoro - devote resources to facilitate the job placement of people with established disabilities; some are created with that specific purpose by dealing only with people with disabilities.
