Equality bodies Equal Opportunities Committee The Equal Opportunities Committee - CPO promotes equal opportunities and wellbeing for all university members, proposing measures and actions to the University bodies and the Executive Board to prevent and combat all forms of discrimination. Single Guarantee Committee The Single Guarantee Committee - CUG safeguards equal opportunities, the enhancement of the well-being of those who work in UniGe and combats discrimination. It is composed on an equal basis of representatives of the trade unions and of the administration. It offers a listening ear and assistance to any member of the university community.. Listening Point Support service aimed at the whole community with the objective of combating all forms of discrimination, harassment, abuse or gender-based violence. It offers individual interviews in a protected space, where it is possible to receive a listening ear, support and information following episodes of violence suffered, acted upon or witnessed. Disability and DSA Services UniGe services to support and students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (DSA) to guarantee their right to study and inclusion in all areas of university life and promote a culture of inclusion. International students UniGe offers a housing search service, assistance in obtaining a residence permit and tax code; information on health care, bank accounts, bus passes, canteens. Alias Career Since 2015, UniGe has prepared the Career Alias for students in gender transition. The dual booklet was created with the aim of overcoming discrimination based on sexual orientation and/or gender identity, promoting a culture oriented towards respect for differences and combating homotranssphobia. Caregiver benefits UniGe grants a partial exemption of 30% on the third university instalment to caregiver students, who provide care for disabled family members. The same benefit has also been granted to natural caregiver students, i.e. parents (also adoptive) of children up to the age of 36 months. Support Service for Staff with Disabilities This service provides a time and space for listening and support aimed at promoting well-being in the workplace for staff with disabilities. At the same time, it offers an opportunity to discuss and consider how to adapt the context and organization, and to implement personalized accommodations. Guidelines for the use of inclusive language The guidelines are a useful tool for the entire UniGe community to create a truly inclusive learning and working environment that recognises and removes all discrimination, starting with language. Code of Conduct Since 2018, the University of Genoa (UniGe) has adopted the Code of Conduct for the Prevention of All Forms of Discrimination, Harassment, and Mobbing in Work and Study Environments, confirming its commitment to promoting a culture of respect and equality—fundamental values for a modern and progressive academic community.
