Universal Civil Service

The Universal Civilian Service is a path of growth and training dedicated to young people, between the ages of 18 and 28, European, Italian and foreign residents at the time of application, lasting one year and with a weekly commitment of 25 hours over 5 days (Monday-Friday). 


The advantages of this choice include: 

  • a tax-free reimbursement of €507.30 per month

  • a certificate of acquired skills that can be used in the labour market

  • training credits expendable in your university course of study

  • a possible recognition of the Civil Service course as a curricular traineeship

The year of Civil Service is also redeemable for social security purposes and guarantees those who complete the course 15% reserved places in all public competitions, thus representing the ideal path for those who wish to work in the Public Administration in the future. 

 

The University of Genoa, an institution accredited by the Department of Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service, has been offering this course for three years in partnership with various local stakeholders such as the Municipality of Genoa, the social cooperatives "Agorà" and "La Comunità" and the APS "Arci Servizio Civile". The intervention thus confirms its social commitment to the community of Genoa while responding to the objectives of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
 


UniGe offers 3 projects for a total of 18 positions: 

 

  • UniGeSenior, courses, culture and experiences between generations, 7 positions, of which 2 reserved for people with ISEE equal to or less than 15.000 euros, project code: PTXSU0042523011671NMTX. To apply, copy the code and go to Online Application

     

    Unigesenior is a project of the university that aims to meet the needs of the growing elderly population in Liguria. Launched in 1983, the programme offers cultural and educational courses and activities for the elderly, promoting active ageing. The educational offering includes courses in various academic areas, as well as cultural initiatives rooted in the region. In 2022, the name was changed from 'UniTe' to 'UniGeSenior', emphasising the university's membership and adopting the term 'Senior' instead of 'Third Age'.

  • Orizzonti Aperti: education, training and work paths in prisons, 7 positions, project code: PTCSU0042523010446NXTX. To apply, copy the code and go to Online Application

     

    The project involves various entities, including the University of Genoa, the Association of Social Promotion Sc'Art! the Solidarity Centre of the Compagnia delle Opere Liguria (CDS) and ARCI Genoa, to provide assistance to inmates and ex-inmates in several prisons in Liguria. These institutions are characterised by overcrowding and a very diverse inmate population. The project aims to improve prisoners' living conditions by providing educational and training opportunities, in line with European and national regulations. Through initiatives such as the Regional Penitentiary University Centre and various creative workshops, the aim is to foster the social and professional reintegration of inmates, contributing to their resocialisation.

  • Let's valorise together: UniGe's cultural heritage for the city, 4 positions, project code: PTXSU0042523012604NXTX. To apply, copy the code and go to Online Application

     

    The project aims at enhancing the cultural heritage of the University of Genoa (UniGe) in order to strengthen social cohesion and promote the active participation of citizens. Through various initiatives, UniGe intends to share its rich historical, scientific and cultural heritage, involving different age groups, including students, lecturers, citizens and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and migrants. The aim is to improve UniGe's visibility in the city of Genoa, promote sustainability and inclusiveness, and consolidate the relationship between the university and the community. Through the collaboration with ASC APS and other organisations, the project aims to create positive synergies for the harmonious and sustainable development of the local community.

FAQ

Possono partecipare giovani che alla data di presentazione della domanda abbiano compiuto il diciottesimo e non superato il ventottesimo anno di età (28 anni e 364 giorni) e siano in possesso dei seguenti requisiti:

  • SPID (Sistema Unico di Identità Digitale)
  • Non aver prestato già il servizio civile nazionale/universale o averlo interrotto
  • Non aver riportato condanne
  • Essere cittadino/a italiano/a, comunitario/a o avere regolare permesso di soggiorno
  • Non appartenere a forze di polizia o a corpi armati

I progetti di Servizio Civile Universale possono avere una durata variabile da 8 a 12 mesi. 
I progetti in UniGe avranno durata di 12 mesi per un monte ore annuo di 1.145 ore.

Ai volontari spetta un rimborso mensile di 507,30 euro esente da imposte, che viene erogato direttamente dal Dipartimento per le Politiche Giovanili e il Servizio Civile e non dall’ente o associazione che promuove il progetto.

Si può presentare la domanda di presentazione per un solo progetto, quindi il primo passo è scegliere quello a cui si intende partecipare.
Una volta individuato il progetto a cui ci si intende candidare è necessario copiare il codice progetto e ricercare lo stesso progetto sulla piattaforma di Domanda On Line (DOL) indicandolo come prescelto.
Sarà quindi necessario compilare gli altri campi della propria domanda, come le esperienze pregresse e le motivazioni per la candidatura. 

Una volta terminato il bando, UniGe convocherà le selezioni che si svolgeranno in presenza. I criteri di selezione sono indicati nelle schede sintetiche di ogni progetto. I colloqui sono formalmente convocati con la sola pubblicazione su questo sito delle date di selezione e dei candidati coinvolti, anche se l’ateneo si impegna a segnalare la convocazione anche alle email fornite in sede di candidatura.

Al termine dei colloqui l’ateneo pubblicherà delle graduatorie provvisorie. Attenzione: non saranno indicati per ragioni di tutela dei dati personali i nomi e cognomi dei candidati che saranno invece anonimizzati tramite il numero di candidatura presente in cima alla candidatura. Si suggerisce pertanto di salvare tale numero. 

  • Per usufruire del 15% di posti riservati nei concorsi pubblici agli ex volontari in Servizio Civile.
  • Per partecipare attivamente alla vita sociale e civile del Paese, dedicando un anno della propria vita a favore di un impegno solidaristico
  • Permette di realizzare quella “cittadinanza attiva” che rende protagonisti coloro che hanno deciso volontariamente di svolgere un anno a favore della comunità
  • È occasione di crescita umana e sociale e prevede obbligatoriamente percorsi di formazione generale e specifica
  • È un’esperienza qualificante da inserire nel proprio bagaglio di conoscenze, spendibile nel corso della vita lavorativa, e che, a volte, può diventare essa stessa opportunità di lavoro
  • Può configurarsi come concreta occasione di socializzazione al lavoro, ossia un’opportunità di venire a contatto con un contesto lavorativo che ha delle proprie regole, che comporta diritti e doveri reciproci, condivisione di responsabilità e obiettivi, sviluppo di legami e relazioni nuove
  • Offre l’opportunità di mettere in pratica le conoscenze teoriche apprese durante il percorso formativo scolastico-universitario, verificando concretamente le proprie attitudini professionali
  • Il periodo di servizio civile prestato viene valutato nei concorsi pubblici con le stesse modalità e con lo stesso valore del servizio prestato presso gli enti pubblici
