Postgraduate specialisation programmes in the field of cultural heritage conservation

A postgraduate specialisation programme is a professionalising postgraduate course designed to provide the knowledge and skills required to carry out the highly specialised roles necessary for specific professional activities (Ministerial Decree 270/2004). Specialisation schools form part of third-cycle university studies; entry is subject to holding specific master’s degrees, specialist degrees or degrees awarded under the previous system.

The academic regulations of each School set out the duration of the programme, the admission requirements, the teaching activities and the learning outcomes. On completion of the course, students are awarded a specialisation diploma.

Study programmes at specialisation schools in the field of cultural heritage conservation last two academic years, which may be organised into semesters or terms, and require the acquisition of 120 CFU, with an appropriate number of credits allocated to work placements and training placements.

Attendance is compulsory; the methods of assessment are determined by the individual specialisation schools.
