The University of Genoa names the Maritime and Naval History Laboratory (NavLab) after Fernand Braudel (1902-1985), an eminent French historian and honorary citizen of Genoa, known for his revolutionary conception of Mediterranean history.

The laboratory will be named The Fernand Braudel Research Center with an official ceremony presided over by Rector Federico Delfino.
