The University of Genoa is hosting Atelier Melina, a stimulating and energetic meeting point that combines a more traditional exhibition aspect with the opportunity for those present to interact in person with Melina Riccio.

Through the use of salvaged materials and an approach deeply connected to the themes of sustainability and reuse, Melina Riccio gives life to works of extraordinary evocative power. Abandoned objects come back to life to disseminate universal messages of peace, unity, solidarity and respect for the environment.

Melina Riccio was born on 11 April 1951 in Ariano Irpino (AV). She has taken part in countless exhibitions on a national and international level; among the most significant are: 'Noi, quelli della parola che sempre cammina', held in Genoa in September 2010 at the Commenda di Prè, and 'Banditi dell'arte' at the Halle Saint Pierre in Paris, which marked the beginning of her recognition on the international Art Brut scene. In 2022, the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris (Mnam - Centre Pompidou) dedicated a section to his work.
