The 21st century is born from the troubled history of the 20th century, with its two World Wars and other conflicts of European dimension, such as the Spanish Civil War.

The conference aims to investigate the ways in which the memory of these conflicts is handed down in the 21st century, what representations are provided, what are the blind and/or obscure points of this memorial process, also from a critical perspective (Ricoeur, 2003) and how the power relations between official discourse and counter-discourses develop.
