fasi iscrizione di studenti non-EU residenti all’estero con diploma italiano ottenuto all’estero (studenti richiedenti visto)

Before leaving for Italy

Universitaly, pre-enrolment

If you are a non-EU student, you live abroad and you have an Italian diploma obtained abroad, to enroll at the University of Genoa, follow these steps:

STEP 1 - UNIVERSITALY

Apply for a visa (preliminary for pre-enrolment) on the Universitaly website by 21st June 2024, indicating the University of Genoa and the course you want to enroll in (you can select only one course of study).

  • The University of Genoa will validate your application and forward it to the Embassy if the application is considered complete. You will need to upload all your documents during the application process at Universitaly. You will then have to complete the procedure for the issuance of the study visa at the Italian Embassy or Consulate that you indicated during the application process on Universitaly.
  • Documents required to apply for Universitaly (visa application):
  • (mandatory) Passport
  • (mandatory) Photo
  • (Mandatory) Degree obtained or being awarded (in this case you must submit the letter from your institution certifying that the degree will be obtained by 15 August) which is the diploma (to enrol in a single cycle degree or master’s degree);
  • (optional) If the chosen course is taught in English: English language proficiency document (level B2).

STEP 2 - PRE-IMMATRICOLAZIONE

Pre-enrolment may take place after the application has been submitted on Universitaly.
You can apply for pre-enrolment on Unige Online Services in the following cases:

  • For courses with free access: meet the deadlines listed in the table above. You can pre-register even if you are completing your studies (see the deadline for obtaining the title);
  • For limited access courses: check the deadlines provided by the respective calls for competition. Consult the page of calls with programmed number

Check at STEP 2-A how to register and fill in the pre-enrolment application.

Register to obtain your UniGePass credentials (username and password) to access the Online Services. Be careful to fill in the fields with the data exactly as shown on your passport (or on your Italian ID, if in possession). In case of surname and/or compound name, enter all surnames and names on your passport (do not use dashes and dots). Be careful not to reverse the surname and first name fields. If one of the two fields is empty on your passport, fill in using an X. Filling in with an error can slow down the services offered. Please note that the fields filled during the registration phase cannot be modified by the user during the pre-enrolment application process.

Go to Online Services, enter your credentials to access and start pre-enrolment.

  • Select the course of interest. The course must be the same as that for which you applied on Universitaly (visa request). Mark in the options of "preliminary test exemption" > no exemption.
  • In the "Profile" section, once you have selected your nationality, you DO NOT need to check the box that will appear with the following wording: ‘I declare to be legally resident in Italy according to the current Immigration Law (as per D. Lgs. 286/98 and subsequent amendments)’. The box will be checked only by students who have not applied for a visa because they are already regularly in Italy.
  • In the section "Education": the fields that will be automatically filled in in the case of selection of foreign diploma (or Italian diploma obtained abroad) or foreign degree must not be changed, indicate that the qualification is obtain in a foreign institution.
  • Load the scan of your document (front/back). The document must be legible. One of the two pages must contain all your personal information with your photo. Also upload a photo.
  • In the section "Documents" only upload any documents expressly required by the selected course of study.

  • Once the review operation is complete you will receive an email with the subject: UNIGE pre-enrolment - Preliminary verification of requirements completed.
  • After receiving the email, you will be able to access again your pre-enrolment application on Unige Online Services, view your data and make the final submission of the application.

You will then receive an email notifying you that the pre-enrolment process has been successful.

When you arrive in Italy

STEP 3 – ENROLMENT
