• certification of civil invalidity; 
• certification of Specific Learning Disorder (DSA) pursuant to Law n.170 of 8 October 2010

you can apply to:

• the Rector's Delegate for University Inclusion of Students with Disabilities and Specific Learning Disorders (DSA) (hereafter Rector's Delegate); 
• the Referring Teacher of your School/Department (hereafter Referring Teacher); 
• the Services for the inclusion of students with disabilities and with DSA (hereafter Sector). Web pages: Disability and DSA | unige.it.

To take advantage of the specific services provided by the University of Genoa it is necessary to: 

• be enrolled in a course of study or training activity at the University; 
• provide the Sector with the certifications referred to in point 1. On the page Directions for inserting diagnostic certification online you will find instructions for online insertion; 
• contact the Sector and introduce yourself to your Contact Person.

You can request an individual interview with the Rector's Delegate, the Contact Person or the Sector to obtain information, clarification or support for your study pathway.

You can request an individual interview with the Department, which will put you in touch with psychologists who are experts in the field of study methodologies related to the different types of disabilities and specific learning disorders.

A qualified operator will be able to provide you with individual mobility support within the university premises in order to access classrooms, laboratories, canteens, services, offices and any other place, even outside the university, to which you will have to go for reasons related to teaching activities.

The service of Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Facilitated Communication (WOCE) is carried out by operators who possess knowledge, techniques and strategies aimed at facilitating communication for those who have difficulties in using the most common communication channels, with particular regard to verbal communication and writing.

To activate the service fill out the Service Request Form: your request will reach the Contact Person and in copy to the Sector.

LIS interpreters will be able to support you when you conduct interviews, during meetings with your au pair tutor and when you take your exams.

You can request technical equipment, aids and specific software related to your needs in relation to university teaching on loan.

To activate the service fill in the Service Request Form : your request will be sent to the Contact Person and in copy to the Sector. Aids are acquired by the Sector on the basis of student requests and within the limits of available resources; delivery times vary depending on the availability of suppliers.

Dispensatory measures and compensatory tools are intended to enable students to achieve the same learning objectives as their fellow students, not to facilitate the examination.

The use of compensatory tools and the application of dispensatory measures must be authorised in advance by the teacher in agreement with the Referee.

To take advantage of the adaptations during the examination, fill in the Adaptation request form; the request will be automatically sent by the system to the teacher in charge of the teaching, to the Contact Person of your School/Area/Department and in copy to the Sector; you will also receive a copy of the request sent by e-mail.

The adjustments available to students are as follows:

• Additional time (+30% DSA)
• Additional time (+50% disability/invalidity)
• Additional time during oral exams to organise the answer
• Calculator (programmable and graphing calculators are not allowed)
• Conceptual Maps
• Tables and/or Forms
• Take the exam in written form
• Take the exam in oral form
• Tutor reader (for written tests only)
• Tutor-writer (for written tests only)

Your request for adaptations must be submitted at least 7 working days before the scheduled exam date.

The au pair tutor can, for example, accompany you:

• in carrying out administrative paperwork;
• in retrieving course materials;
• in discussions with your contact person and the teaching staff;
• during lectures for transcribing notes;
• when repeating lectures;
• in examinations as reader-writer tutor.

The peer tutor will support you in the teaching activities in which you experience the most difficulty, for example by helping you identify strategies and apply effective study methods. The tutors provide support in agreement with your contact person, the lecturer in charge of the course and the department.

The tutors are students like you who have taken part in a selection process; you will agree on the times and methods of tutoring in accordance with your respective study commitments.

The tutor's role is to support you, enhancing your autonomy: the protagonist of the course remains you.

Remember to inform the Sector as soon as possible of your possible withdrawal from the tutoring service.
