On April 16, 1922, Germany and Russia signed the Treaty of Rapallo by which they resumed diplomatic and commercial relations, each cancelling reparations and payments of war damages to the other.

One hundred years after that signature, the University of Genoa announces a conference that proposes a reflection on the construction of peace in the current international scenario, characterized by a "new" institutional actor: the European Union.
