The University of Genoa shares with deep sorrow the passing of Prof. Gaetano Bignardi, Rector from November 1, 2004 to October 31, 2008.

Born in Livorno in 1934 to a family originally from Emilia, at the age of 14 he moved to Genoa where he attended the D'Oria classical high school and the University. He was full professor of pharmaceutical technology and legislation and then emeritus from 2009 at the Faculty of Pharmacy, of which he was also Dean for 18 years, until 2002.

Rosary will be celebrated on Thursday, March 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Parish of San Pietro in Quinto.

The funeral will take place on Friday, March 12, at 11:45 a.m. at the same Parish.
