How can we reconcile the need for growth with respect for the environment and the context that surrounds us? There are many realities involved in this truly avant-garde project with a very important strategic role.


The main objective of the European project GEREMIA ( Effluent Management for the Improvement of Port Waters) is to train and support all those involved in the management of port waters through innovative tools and solutions.


Through pilot activities located in the ports of Genoa, Olbia, La Spezia and Toulon, the project aims to develop a plan for the management of port waters that aims to reduce the risk of waste water pollution and possible impacts on the surrounding marine environment.


The project is the result of a partnership between:

  • Servizi Ecologici del Porto di Genova
  • Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Orientale
  • Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale
  • Università di Tolone
  • Istituto per lo studio degli Impatti Antropici e Sostenibilità in ambiente marino del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche
