Procedure for entering into an agreement

To enter into an academic cooperation agreement:

  • the academic staff member submits a proposal to the Internationalisation Service (relint@unige.it) or to the Office for the Development of International Cooperation (intstrat@unige.it) the academic cooperation agreement, accompanied by a concise project plan setting out the main objectives, the reasons for the choice of partner(s) and, where there are multiple partners, a specification of the role played by each
  • the relevant offices verify the legal status of the potential partner university and any amendments it has made to UniGe’s standard agreement template
  • the proposing academic shares the final agreement text with the International Relations Officer of their department, by sending an email in which the relevant central offices are copied (relint@unige.it or intstrat@unige.it)
  • the office concerned submits the proposal to the International Relations Committee for consideration, including verification of the legal status and comments regarding any changes to the text
  • if the International Relations Committee approves the proposal, the offices inform the proposing lecturer and proceed to obtain the Rector’s signature. Once signed, the agreement will be sent to the partner for countersignature. When both parties have signed, the Delegate for International Relations, having been duly informed by the relevant offices, must notify the Departmental Council that the agreement has been concluded
  • If the International Relations Committee expresses reservations about the proposal, the proposing lecturer will be asked to provide further clarification to enable a more thorough assessment.
