Information for students currently carrying out the collaboration

Students who were selected in the previous call (academic year 2024/2025) and who are currently performing the collaboration activity may continue until 31 March 2026 inclusive.

After that date, if they have not completed the required hours, they must proceed with the online interruption using the corresponding “Interrupt” action (NOT “withdrawal”) in order to allow the payment of the hours worked up to that date.

It is not possible under any circumstances to continue beyond that date.

Once the activity has been interrupted, the student must notify the contact person of the structure where the collaboration was carried out for any remaining administrative steps and to request payment of the hours worked.

Information for students selected for the 2025/2026 collaboration

Students who are selected may begin their collaboration from 1 April 2026, subject to agreement with the structure where they were selected.

It is not possible to start the collaboration before that date.

Selected students will have 45 days from the publication of the rankings to decide whether to accept or refuse the collaboration activity. After that period, they will be automatically considered to have declined.

This decision must be made through the corresponding action in the dedicated online service.

Before starting the collaboration, the student must:

  • Accept the collaboration activity through the online services, only after rereading the regulations and ensuring that they are not in a situation of incompatibility.

  • Sign the documents related to the collaboration through the IO app (signature always available within the dedicated online service). If it is not possible to use the IO app, the student must sign these documents on the first day of activity, requesting them from their contact person.

  • Successfully complete the courses on safety and privacy (see the relevant section below on this page for more information).

  • Contact the contact person of the structure where they were selected in order to agree on the schedule and working arrangements. These contact details can be found in the general information document or in the university directory..

On the first day of activity, the student must:

  • Show their contact person that the documents have been signed through the IO app, otherwise sign them at that time.

  • Show their contact person that they have completed the mandatory safety and privacy courses.

  • Sign the declaration of start of activity, which must be requested from their contact person (if, and only if, the student was selected in a structure within the teaching area, the declaration must be requested mailing to 150ore@segreterie.unige.it

What part-time collaborations are

Student collaborations at the University consist of support activities carried out within different university structures and include practical tasks useful to academic life. These may range from support for general services (excluding teaching activities, examinations, and any administrative responsibility), to assistance in libraries, study spaces, and departments, as well as information services for students and users.

The collaboration activity is regulated under the Article 11 of Legislative Decree No. 68 of 29 March 2012, Prime Ministerial Decrees of 30 April 1997 and 9 April 2001, which establish the principles of uniform treatment regarding the right to university education, Article 18 of the University of Genoa Student Regulations.

The compensation for collaboration is €8.00 per hour. This payment is exempt from income tax (IRPEF) pursuant to Article 11, paragraph 3, of Legislative Decree No. 68 of 29 March 2012.

Each participating university structure has indicated the student roles required, specifying the number of collaborators, the total number of hours and any specific requirements, such as the degree program. These requests are fully reported in Annex A (information related to the 2025/2026 academic year).

This information document (also relating to the 2025/2026 academic year) does not include all requesting structures, but provides useful elements to help students choose, such as the location where the collaboration will take place (not all structures are located in Genoa; some are in Savona or Imperia), the required skills, the period of activity, and the expected working hours.

The information documents also include a description of the activities required, both from a practical perspective and in terms of learning opportunities. Students are therefore advised to read the documents carefully for the structures they are interested in.

Please note that these information sheets do not constitute any commitment or obligation on the part of the structures. Their sole purpose is to provide useful information for students and avoid situations in which the selected student later turns out to be incompatible with the needs of the structure (for example: a student available only in the afternoon while the structure is open only in the morning).

All interested students are strongly advised to carefully read the collaboration activity regulations before submitting an application.

The information provided on this page must always be supplemented with the more detailed provisions contained in the official regulations. Further clarifications are available in the FAQ section.
