The Board of Directors determines and assigns annually to the departments and to CIELI, on the basis of the proposal formulated by the University Research Commission, the financial resources aimed at financing research activities.The 2024 assignment was made on the basis of a method, formulated by the University Research Commission and approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting of 22 May 2024, the essential elements of which are:35% in basal quota, in proportion to "active researchers" as of 31.12.2023;65% in prize share, in turn apportioned by foreseeing a weight of the ASN criterion of 5/9 compared to that of the VQR 2015-2019 criterion of 4/9, in consideration of the fact that the results of the VQR 2015-2019 are less significant given the approaching 2020-2024 evaluation procedure.The Board of Directors also resolved:the possibility of using the University's Research Funds to finance research activities or for initiatives in any case indirectly related to the same;the 24-month deadline for the use of the sums allocated to the structures concerned, for which the internal distribution criteria, the results achieved and the actual expenditure must be reported;the allocation of any unused resources at the end of the reporting of the previous FRAs, applying the modalities of the Premium Share (5/9 through ASN criterion and 4/9 through VQR criterion).
