The Creation of Public ValueIn line with national frameworks, the University of Genoa, in the Integrated Activity and Organisation Plan, defines the creation of Public Value as the enhancement of well-being for the recipients of its policies and services. To clarify our specific contribution, we distinguish between several related concepts:Sectoral ValueThis refers to the direct impact of the University's policies on the well-being of stakeholders within our three core mission areas: Education and Student Services, Research, and Third Mission.Measurement: Assessed by the degree of achievement of our Strategic and Operational Objectives. Public Value (Narrow Definition)This represents the average impact of the University's policies on the overall well-being (economic, social, and environmental) of our stakeholders. It measures the cumulative, additional well-being generated by our activities.Measurement: Assessed by the degree of achievement of our Public Value Objectives. Public Value (Broad Definition)This is the most comprehensive measure, assessing the overall impact on stakeholder well-being by also considering effective governance, risk management, and the sustainable use of institutional resources.Measurement: Assessed by correlating the achievement of Public Value Objectives with performance in executive management, anti-corruption measures, and human capital development. Acknowledged Public Value This refers to the impact of the University's policies as perceived and acknowledged by our external stakeholders.Measurement: Assessed through dedicated stakeholder surveys. .
