The Ministry of Universities and Research is funding MULTI-ASD (Multidimensional platform to investigate human genes associated with autism spectrum disorders): a project of the University of Genoa and the Giannina Gaslini Institute for a new genetic understanding of autism. The project has been selected under the Italian Science Fund (FIS), one of the most selective and prestigious programmes for the funding of research projects of excellence with high scientific impact. 

The project Multidimensional platform to investigate human genes associated with autism spectrum disorders is coordinated by Marcello Scala, paediatrician and researcher in Medical Genetics at the unit of Medical Genetics at Gaslini and the Department of Neuroscience of the University of Genoa.
