The C-City Genoa Circular City project won the 1st Sustainable Development Award 2023 - circular economy sector at Ecomondo (Rimini, Nov. 7-10, 2023), the international benchmark event in Europe and the Mediterranean basin for technologies, services and industrial solutions in the green and circular economy sectors.

This is the 13th edition of the Award established by the Foundation for Sustainable Development and Ecomondo-Italian Exhibition Group, under the patronage of MASE, for companies, start-ups and local governments that have distinguished themselves for eco-innovation, effectiveness of environmental and economic results and their potential for dissemination.

C-City, a project implemented by Amiu Genova Spa and Commune di Genova, in partnership with University of Genova and Job Centre Srl, involves the adoption of a medium- to long-term system-city strategy, the development of a circular district through the implementation of a circular hub, experiments in bioeconomy related to the use of waste organic fraction as well as experimental trials to convert medium-industrial production chains from linear to circular.
