Ambasciatore d'Israele in Italia

The Ambassador of Israel to Italy, Alon Bar, accompanied by Bruno Gazzo, president of the APAI - Association for Italy-Israel Friendship, visited the University of Genoa.

With the honors of the vice chancellor, Nicoletta Dacrema, and in a very cordial atmosphere, the ambassador discussed the long and fruitful collaboration between the University of Genoa and Israeli institutions, further consolidated by the Genoa - Akko (Acre) twinning, a city where, among other things, Fabrizio Benente, professor of Christian and medieval archaeology and pro-rector of the third mission, has conducted several excavation campaigns.

The meeting provided an opportunity to jointly evaluate with Laura Gaggero (pro-rector for research), Mario Marchese (pro-rector for PhD and business relations) and Marco Giovine (director of the Center of the Sea) possible scientific areas of common interest to be jointly developed.

At the end of the meeting, in expressing satisfaction with the talks, Alon Bar emphasized how strategic it is to find reliable interlocutors, especially in today's difficult and conflicting environment.
