The Department of Economics is proposing a kick-off event for a project that aims to exploit the potential offered by the Digital Humanities by creating an innovative research platform in which diverse sources related to the history of European trade and finance are collected together, digitized and partially analyzed. The sources intended to be worked on are notarial documents, commercial contracts, account books, insurance policies and other sources of an economic nature.

.

The workshop, coordinated by Andrea Zanini and Luisa Piccinno, brings together historians, computer specialists and archivists from different European countries who, in the venue chosen for the event, can engage with the rich documentation of the Genoese archival heritage and the Center for the Study and Documentation of Economic History "Doria Archives" of the Department of Economics.
