From 6 to 8 June 2026, Genoa will host a new edition of the "World Oceans Day: getting to know, understanding, living together", an initiative promoted by INGV - National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology on the occasion of World Oceans Day.

In this context, the University of Genoa will be hosting a series of events dedicated to the sea and its knowledge. These include the meeting "Monica Montefalcone: a life for the sea", with a talk by Carlo Nike Bianchi (Genoa Marine Centre - SZN). A moment of remembrance of the UniGe lecturer in Ecology, who tragically passed away in the Maldives.
