The University of Genoa is hosting the conference “Gender-based violence and neurodevelopmental disorders. Pregnancy as an opportunity for prevention”, which focuses on the importance of the early identification of situations of violence during pregnancy and the development of integrated approaches to prevention, protection and support.

The conference will also present the results of a retrospective study on exposure to different forms of violence during pregnancy among mothers of boys and girls with autism spectrum disorders. The discussion will also explore the role of health monitoring, screening and collaboration between hospitals, local communities, antenatal clinics, social services, anti-violence centres and institutions.
