The MUR - Ministry of Universities and Research has awarded the Italian UNESCO Chairs the Symbol of Merit "as a distinguishing mark of their commitment to setting up programmes aimed at responding promptly and with greater autonomy to the renewed demands for new learning and research in a rapidly changing economic, social and technological world". These include the two UNESCO Chairs at the University of Genoa: Antropology of Health - Biosphere and Systems of Care (scientific director: Antonio Guerci; members: Stefania Consigliere, Ezio Fulcheri, Adine Gavazzi, Tania Re, Anna Siri) and Innovative Sustainable Clean Energy Research and Education (coordinator: Aristide Massardo).

The award was implemented on the basis of the Ministerial Decree No. 495 of 6 March 2024.
