28/03/2026 Blue Economy and Design Thinking: applications are now open for the free Summer School "Innovation skills for an effective job placement in sea-related companies"Applications are now open for the Summer School "Innovation skills for an effective job placement in sea-related companies", the training course of excellence promoted by the University of Genoa's Department of Education Sciences.The Summer School of the Sea 2026 - Innovation skills for an effective insertion in seafaring companies is the result of the synergy between the University and the Genoa Blue District, which is supporting the process as part of the project "Genoa from the Blue District to the House of Technology: the blue line", co-funded by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. The initiative also acts as a complementary activity to the "Blue Skills Village" working group, of which, in addition to the entire Blue Economy world, the University of Genoa itself is a part.The course aims to develop the transversal and problem solving skills that are essential in the maritime sector today. Through theoretical lectures and practical case studies, participants will use Design Thinking to devise and validate innovative solutions dedicated to the Blue Economy, a strategic pillar of the Ligurian economy.Thanks to the co-funding and active participation of industrial partners such as GIN - Genova Industrie Navali SpA, Ab Volt and Amico&Co SpA, the Summer School is entirely free of charge for the 20 candidates admitted (only a 16-euro virtual stamp fee is required). This collaboration guarantees students direct access to the industry's production dynamics.
