Edoardo Raposio all'Università di Tokushima

For the first time, the prestigious University of Tokushima (Japan) has invited an Italian surgeon as a speaker to an educational meeting. Edoardo Raposio, UniGe lecturer in plastic surgery from the Department of Integrated Surgical and Diagnostic Sciences - DISC, led a lecture/seminar on the surgical treatment of migraines and headaches, methods in which the University of Genoa's research group is considered among the most authoritative globally.

The minimally invasive surgical technique is indicated for the treatment of migraine and muscle-tensive headaches refractory to drug therapy or burdened by significant side effects. It is based on the release of specific superficial nerves, the inflammation of which causes the attacks. The therapy has a success rate close to 90% in operated patients, with minimal convalescence and side effects.
