The University of Genoa’s Listening Centre, approved by the University’s governing bodies on 22 November 2024, has been operational since 10 February 2025.

What is it?

The Listening Centre supports and strengthens the network of bodies aimed at protecting the university community and promoting well-being.
Specifically, the Listening Centre’s role is to combat all forms of discrimination, harassment, abuse or gender-based violence within the university environment.

Who is it for?

The Support Centre is aimed at the entire University of Genoa community: students, technical and administrative staff, library staff, lecturers and researchers.

What does it do?
  • It offers one-to-one counselling sessions in a safe space, where you can find a listening ear, support and information following incidents of violence that you have experienced, perpetrated or witnessed;
  • provides initial guidance and basic information on legal aspects and the most appropriate ways to contact the relevant authorities and the University’s institutional bodies, as well as the network of local services (Anti-Violence Centres, Centres for Abusive Men).
Where and how?

The UniGe Listening Centre is located in Genoa, at Stradone S. Agostino 39R.

Access by appointment:

  • Tuesdays, from 10.00 to 12.00
  • Thursday, from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm

The University of Genoa’s Listening Centre is run in collaboration with Aliseo – Liguria Region and the Order of Psychologists of Liguria.
