Luca Liberale, a lecturer in Internal Medicine at the University of Genoa and a clinicaland researcher at the IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino, has received the Karl Link Early Career Investigator Award in Thrombosis, an award from the American Heart Association presented to young researchers who have distinguished themselves in the study of thrombosis.

The award recognises a study, of which Liberale is the lead author, focusing on the role of interleukin-6 in the mechanisms linking inflammation and thrombosis.
