Irene Caffa, a UniGe researcher in "Applied dietary sciences" at the Department of Internal Medicine and Medical Specialities - DIMI, won the "Fondazione Umberto Veronesi Award", edition 2024, for her article "Cyclic fasting bolsters cholesterol biosynthesis inhibitors' anticancer activity", published in Nature Communications on 31 October 2023.

The prize, worth five thousand euros, was established in 2018 to valorise the talent, professionalism and passion of the researchers supported by Fondazione Veronesi.
