studenti e studentesse

The Mathematical Women's Festival is a national initiative, organised, each year in a different university, by the Committee in Support of Diversity, Inclusion and Equality of the Italian Mathematical Union. The 2026 edition will take place at the University of Genoa's Department of Mathematics, on 15 May, with a series of communicative activities, workshops and discussion moments dedicated to the world of education.

But on 14 May there is more: with the meeting "(Girls are) unsuitable for mathematics: some (educational) ideas for debunking an urban legend", Chiara De Fabritiis, lecturer in Geometry at the Università Politecnica delle Marche and coordinator of the Committee in support of Diversity, Inclusion and Equality of the Italian Mathematical Union, proposes a reflection on the stereotypes that still influence the relationship between girls and mathematical disciplines, offering educational tools and ideas for comparison in the school context.

Where and when?
