The Canada-Italy Prize for Innovation is an initiative of the Embassy of Canada in Italy established with the aim of strengthening ties between the two countries in the fields of science, technology, innovation and social sciences.

The call is aimed at those engaged in the innovation ecosystem in different fields (start-ups, research world, creative industries) who intend to initiate joint projects with Canadian partners in areas of impact for innovative, inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development.

Applicant projects must address one or more of the areas identified as priorities for the Government of Canada:

• mental health
• collection and recycling of critical minerals
• hydrogen production, storage and transport as a source to combat climate change
• quantum technology
• prevention of gender-based violence

The award consists of reimbursement of expenses incurred for a trip to Canada up to a maximum of €3,000 to meet with Canadian partners and develop the project.
