26/01/2023 UniGe confirms its commitment to promoting increasingly green and sustainable university mobility.Ilaria Delponte, University Mobility Manager, and Francesca Pirlone, UniGe contact person for the mobility working group, took part in the national conference of the RUS - Network of Universities for Sustainable Development, held at the University Milano Bicocca, on January 17, 2023.The meeting, focused on "University Mobility Management and Sustainable Local Mobility," dealt with strategies and actions put in place by Italian universities to reduce the environmental impacts related to the university community's travel in view of a return to a new post-emergency normality from Covid-19 that is increasingly environmentally committed and marked by sustainability. The panel discussion was attended not only by numerous representatives of the university community but also by entities and administrations that share and support the universities' actions within the broader territorial context.Among the many best-practices presented, particular emphasis was placed on the development of Home-University Travel Plans, an indispensable tool for driving the modal and mental change required by the environmental and climate challenges we face and which UniGe recently approved.Learn more on the RUS website at the first useful link and read the article in the University magazine at the second useful link to find out about UniGe's Home-University Travel Plan.
