IRIS - Indicator of Inter-Area Student Achievement measures the efficiency and effectiveness with which freshmen pass their first-year exams and, in particular, the ratio between the result achieved by the freshman and the maximum result expected by his Area.

The indicator, conceived by Professor Giuseppe Lo Nostro in 2004, is an important tool to evaluate the different aspects of guidance and tutoring, detecting possible critical issues and potential improvement actions.
