Call for Italian language teaching assistants at Australian primary and secondary schools (State of Victoria)

The purpose of the program is to jointly pair the local teacher with an Italian graduate able to bring to the Australian school the contemporary Italian language and culture.

Period of activity: from mid-April to mid-December 2024. 

Requirements for participation

  • Master's degree awarded in a course from the following fields: Humanities and Philosophy, Modern Languages and Literatures, and Education Sciences
  • English language proficiency
  • Age not older than 30 years as of March 31, 2024 (not having turned 31)
  • Italian citizenship

Convocation of interviews

The interviews will be held online, via Microsoft Teams Platform, on Wednesday, October 25 from 9.30 onwards and will end by 1 p.m.For any needs: tel 010 2099675 - e-mail bandi.placement@unige.it WARNING: during the week from October 23 to October 27, the site will be under maintenance and no changes will be possible. Any communication referring to the interviews will be sent via email. 

Contributions Provided

  • Bursary worth 1045.00$A gross per week paid by COASIT (disbursed every two weeks)
  • Bursary having maximum amount of 1.000 euros (the amount of the scholarship may not exceed the travel expenses actually incurred), to only winners who have graduated not more than three years (on the date of submission of the application for participation in the pre-selection) who, have regularly completed the activity and with ISEE indicator not exceeding 35.000 euros.

The COASIT (Italian Assistance Committee) of Melbourne - Australia is a moral entity that has been working in the welfare and education sector for over 30 years under an agreement signed with the Ministry of Education and the Catholic Education Office of the State of Victoria.

Scopo del programma è quello di affiancare all’insegnante locale un laureato italiano capace di portare nella scuola australiana la lingua e la cultura italiana contemporanea.

Periodo di attività: da metà aprile e metà dicembre 2027.
Sono disponibili 4 posti.

Requisiti per la partecipazione

Leggere attentamente il bando e le note informative del COASIT per verificare se si possiedono i requisiti richiesti

  • Laurea magistrale o magistrale a ciclo unico conseguita presso l'Università di Genova negli ambiti di Lettere, Lingue e Scienze della Formazione
  • Cittadinanza italiana
  • Conoscenza della lingua inglese pari o superiore al livello IELTS 6.5 
  • Età non superiore a 30 anni al 31 marzo 2027 (non aver compiuto 31 anni)
  • Certificazione che dimostri la competenza ad insegnare italiano L2 agli stranieri o disponibilità a frequentare un corso, anche online, per ottenere tale certificazione (art. 2 comma e del Bando)

Contributi previsti

  • Retribuzione del valore di 1550,00 $A lordi a settimana corrisposta dal COASIT (erogati ogni due settimane)
  • Borsa avente ammontare massimo di 1.000 euro lordi (l'importo della borsa non può essere superiore alle spese di viaggio effettivamente sostenute) erogata dall'Università di Genova, ai soli vincitori laureati da non più di tre anni (alla data di presentazione della domanda di partecipazione alla preselezione) che, abbiano regolarmente completato l'attività e con indicatore ISEE non superiore a 35.000 euro.
