To provide interpretative and predictive tools for the analysis, design and management of ideas, projects and systems in the field of water resources at the watershed scale
OBIETTIVI FORMATIVI (DETTAGLIO) E RISULTATI DI APPRENDIMENTO
The course provides interpretative and predictive tools specific to engineering analysis, design and management of ideas, projects and systems in the field of water resources. To this end, the hydraulic and hydrological skills are associated economic-financial aspects, operational research and reliability analysis.
The course includes: 1) outline of economics, optimization, uncertainty and reliability analysis; 2) estimate of resources and demand for surface and underground water systems and for industrial, civil and distribution plants; 3) flood risk management and flood control systems; 4) management in drought conditions; 5) virtual water content and redistribution of water resources; 6) risk analysis for energy production plants, manufacturing plants, insurance and reinsurance companies, leisure facilities.

Written and oral exam.
Modalità di accertamento
The written test consists in the preparation, during the year, of a report, in the form of technical consultancy, aimed at analyzing a project involving the use of a water resource. The report is personal and must be delivered at least seven days before the date set for the oral exam. The oral exam consists in the presentation and discussion, in set times, of the report, integrated by two / three questions concerning the topics covered in the lectures and exercises. The questions are mainly aimed at ascertaining the operational skills acquired by the student.
