How to enroll

 Students

Do you want to enroll in UniGe? 

The University of Genoa offers you the possibility to choose courses of study at various levels and in 11 different areas, to complete your personal and professional training.

This section helps you to understand the next steps you need to take to become a UniGe student, depending on your previous study path.

What kind of student are you? 

With a high school diploma you can enroll in a three-years Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree (5-6 years).

Some of these courses require a mandatory admission test, while others are open access.

What it is

In order to enroll to course with fixed number of students, you must take an admission test.

Carefully read the admission calls for applications on the Course website to know how to apply for the test, important dates, and other relevant information.

Did you pass the admission test?

If you passed the admission test you can join UniGe.

If you have passed the test but still have gaps in your preparation, you will be assigned specific additional training duties (OFA) to complete within the first year of your course.

If you did not pass the test you can either take the test the following year or enroll in another UniGe course.

What it is

If your course is free to access you can enroll straight away but you will have to undergo a background knowledge assessment. This test will be used to assess your knowledge and to identify weaknesses and gaps. In most of these courses, the assessment test is carried out through TE.L.E.MA.CO, a test on numeracy, literacy, and logic skills.

If you have passed the background knowledge assessment , you can go on with the classes and take the exams.

If there are gaps in your preparation, you will be assigned specific additional training duties (OFA) to take within the first year of your course.

With a three-year degree, you can enroll for a 1st level Master's degree or a two-year postgraduate Master's degree.

A master's degree course aims to provide you with advanced training in highly qualified activities.

To obtain a Master's degree, you must acquire 120 CFU, equivalent to 2 academic years.

To enroll for a Master's degree you must verify that you have all the necessary curricular requirements.

Some of these courses require a mandatory admission test, while others are open access.

The 1st level Master's degree is a post-graduate specialization degree that builds on a three-year degree (Bachelor's degree).

The program has a minimum duration of one academic year and usually corresponds to 60 educational credits (CFU).

With a two-year postgraduate degree you can enroll for a 2nd level Master's degree or a PhD.

The 2nd level Master's degree is a post-graduate specialization degree that builds on a two-year degree (Master's degree).

The program has a minimum duration of one academic year and usually corresponds to 60 educational credits (CFU).

PhDs are post-graduate courses with limited access and a duration of three years.

To enroll you must apply to a selection procedure. If you are selected, you may be entitled to a scholarship.

In some cases, some places are reserved for non-EU citizens residing abroad.
