To provide an in-depth knowledge of the main industrial processes, with particular reference to environmental and sustainability issues related to these processes and their products

SYLLABUS/CONTENT
The course includes the discussion of the technical and environmental problems of the following technologies and industrial products: production, treatment and use of natural gas; oil production, treatment and use; production, treatment and use of coal; industrial use of biomass and waste; production and use of hydrogen; production of nuclear fuels and treatment of radioactive waste; production of chemical intermediates from fossil and renewable sources; production of cements, metals, semiconductors, fertilizers, plastics and elastomers; lubricants, detergents, dyes, solvents, explosives, pesticides, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics.

The critical discussion of the topics of the course will allow to assess the level of knowledge of the student and his ability to apply the basic knowledge to the concrete issues related to the environmental impact of industrial technologies.
