SYLLABUS/CONTENT
Relying on the theoretical information provided by Structural Engineering I (last year of the Batchelor course), the course provides the fundamentals of Structural Design of r.c. structures taking into account the building technology and the standard procedures of the construction sites. The approach makes use of a global point of view in which the structure is looked as an assemblage of the structural elements studied in the previous course. In this section: i) the mechanical characterization of the building materials and of structures; ii) legal issues related to the professionals involved in the building process; iii) load tests are also discussed. The course has no specific exercise section since the lessons connect directly examples and applications to the theoretical themes discussed.
