METHODS AND REHABILITATION TECHNIQUES IN PSYCHO-GERIATRIC AGE
AIMS AND CONTENT
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
The teaching aims are :
- To give students the base concepts concerning the cognitive rehabilitation techniques with elder: Procedural memory training, 3 R- R.O.T and innovative methods
- To provide students a general understanding of the “fragile” elder demands through the assessement aimed at planning of rehabilitative intervention
- To enable students to acquire the competences to lead of R.O.T. groups.
- To let students develop: the ability in assessement and planning of interventions in psyco-geriatric domain; the knowledge of psyco-geriatric rehabilitation; the competences referring to rehabilitative techniques.
- To encourage use critical thinking ability to chose efficient rehabilitative performances for people in psyco-geriatric age
At the end of the program the students will be able to :
- Know the assessement tools of elder - Tests and data collection
- Recognise the adequacy of the proposed intervention referring to ongoing cognitive, emotional and general healthcare changes
- Apply the appropriate approach to Psyco-geriatrics users (ex. validation)
- Build/plan the interventions with elders that show cognitive disorders
- Describe analytically the execution and leading of a R.O.T. group
- Explain the most famous rehabilitative methods (Procedural Memory Training - 3R-Rot), the minor ones and the latest applications

SYLLABUS/CONTENT
● The cognitive rehabilitation in geriatric age
● The assessement of “fragile” elder
● Elder rehabilitation and cognitive functions
● Rehabilitative intervention in psyco-geriatrics
● Methods and techniques of rehabilitative interventions : Procedural Memory Training-R.O.T.-3R
● Experience new techniques / knowing some of the rehabilitative methods, like doll therapy and techniques using tecnological and/or informatics support
● Deepening for leading of R.O.T. groups and assessement of percentage performance

Evaluation of the gain of knowledge set in the educational targets.
