AIMS AND CONTENT
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
The teaching of psychology of the handicap and rehabilitation aims to provide the knowledge to face the problems, mainly psychological, inherent to the disability and intends to provide a theoretical-practical framework to face the rehabilitation pathways.
· TRAINING OBJECTIVES (DETAIL):
The course aims to provide students with the basic notions of psychology of the handicap and rehabilitation. It aims to provide the knowledge to deal with the problems, mainly psychological, inherent to disability and intends to provide a theoretical-practical framework. to face the rehabilitation courses
· EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS:
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
· Define the meaning of handicap in terms of biological disadvantage (impairment - disability) and social disadvantage, analyzing the evolution not only of the historical image of the handicap and its definition, but also concretely, in the evolution of diagnostic modalities.
· Identify the role of caregivers and the characteristics of approach to the disabled person
· Define the concept of rehabilitation, the stages and the quality of rehabilitation interventions.
· Knowing how to identify the physical, psychological and social needs susceptible to functional recovery
· Evaluate the needs for help of people of different ages, culture and health status in the various social spheres, integrating theoretical and practical knowledge, and responding to them;
· Knowing how to plan a complete rehabilitation intervention starting from a clinical case.

Exam description
The examination will take place orally on the analysis of the proposed clinical case; the student must plan a rehabilitation intervention and demonstrate that he / she can make a clinical reasoning that focuses on the patient's well-being.
Assessment methods
The oral exam aims to verify the presence of a sufficient level of knowledge of the main basic notions of psychology of the handicap and rehabilitation
The ability to apply knowledge through the presentation of a clinical case is assessed and the ability of rehabilitative clinical reasoning is assessed.
