MASSAGE THERAPY
OVERVIEW
The course presents the main basic techniques of massage, segmental and global mobilization performed by the physiotherapist during his / her care.
AIMS AND CONTENT
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the course the student should have acquired the following skills: - perform the basic techniques of massage, - know the effects and contraindications of massage therapy, - arrange the massotherapy session properly (setting up the setting), keeping in mind the diagnostic indications of the physician and the problems of the ongoing pathology.
To know and acquire the main mode of physiotherapy and its physiological effects on the joints, muscle, neurophysiology, cardio-respiratory and psychological.

Simulations, theoretical-practical exercises:
Students will also have the opportunity to attend workshops and didactic spaces to implement musculoskeletal and muscular motion analysis, the main points of anatomical and muscular tests, and become themselves practitioners and subjects involved.

History and general information about massotherapy. Operating modes. The environment, the length of the session, the operator. Examining skin and subcutaneous tissue (properties and problems) Basic maneuvers and physiological effects of massage. Indications and contraindications for massage therapy Kinesitherapy: definition, biological effects, indications and contraindications. Passive Mobility - Passive Exercise; Effects and purposes. Postural hygiene, simple and specific analytical mobilization, automotive and instrumental mobilization, forced passive mobilization. Active mobilization - active exercise; Effects and purposes. Types of contraction: isometric, isotonic and isocinetic motion. Methods for recovery of muscle strength and muscle strength: techniques and application rules

EXAMS
Exam description
The exam is oral; It will be primarily directed to assessing the appropriate knowledge of the topics covered in the module.
Assessment methods
Details on how to prepare for the exam and the degree to which each subject will be discussed will be communicated during the lessons.
The exam will focus mainly on the topics discussed during the front lessons and in any case on all those specified in the program
