OVERVIEW

Radioprotection is considered a a basic discipline to help student to understand the risks of ionizing radiations used in diagnostic imaging and therapy.  Radioprotection relates to the risk of population, patients and nurses or other technical graduated in the Professional Health  Science who can be exposted to ionizing radiations.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The learning outcomes are: 

- to understand what is an ionization radiations

2. which radiological units are employed in medical science

3. the units of measure of Radiation Dose and Radioprotection

4. the Radiological areas at risk of exposition

5. the shieldings used to protect people from radiations

6. the preliminary concepts of radiobiology who favours the best knowledge of radioprotection

6. the professional figures who rule the Radioprotection procedures

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course of Radioprotection airms at the best knowledge of basic concepts of Radioprotection (Type of Radiations, Units of measure ( Gy, Sievert, Bequerel), Professional graduated involved in radioprotection ( medical Doctor specialist in Diagnostic Imaging, Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine,, and all graduated in Professional Health.
