CONTEMPORARY VISUAL LANGUAGES
OVERVIEW
The course explores contemporary visual languages by highlighting the most prevalent themes, the conforming processes, channels and expressivities, also taking into account the profound transformations determined by digital technologies and the web.
AIMS AND CONTENT
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The course aims to reflect on the multiple visual languages of contemporaneity - both those linked to the project and those of “self-referential” nature - on their codes and channels, on their integration. This is to update the knowledge about research and experimentation in the field of representation-communication and to guide the student towards the acquisition of an innovative and original visual language.
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
The course proposes a reflection on some contemporary expressions, especially those that, exploring experimental languages and conforming processes, create visual and audiovisual artifacts whose innovative characteristic can be traced on content, expression, and fruition.
Teaching methods
Frontal lessons on case studies.
SYLLABUS/CONTENT
There are proposed some expressive episodes that interpret the most prevalent contemporary poetics and research, highlighting, on the one hand, the artistic and communicative values (in relation, for example, to the projectuality linked to the representation of the event), on the other, the elements Of conceptual, linguistic, procedural discontinuity with respect to expressive forms which, though matured in the contemporaneity, seem to basically propose consolidated linguistic codes.
