AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Based on the thermodynamic elements from applied thermodynamics, the course provides students with the basic tools of analysis, design and operation of energy systems and their major components

Worldwide and national energy production overview.
Applied thermodynamic recap.
Steam turbine power plants: system configurations, operating parameters and performances.
Gas turbine power plants: configurations, operating parameters and performances.
Combined cycle power plants and combined heat and power plants (CHP).
Hydroelectric power plants.
Internal combustion engines.
