BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (LM FAR)
OVERVIEW
The course aims to introduce students to business management. All the tehorical models are referred, whereas possible, to the pharmacy specific issues.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students should assimilate the main tools to interpretate the economic environment where companies operate and the ways companies take decisions, with a specific focus on value creation processes, marketing and communication.
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
We intend to provide the main theoretical tools about companies role, structure, environment, behaviours. We also intend to stimulate a personal reflection on the way the overdescribed tools can apply to service companies and SMEs.
At the end of the course, students should be alble to recognize the main strategic analysis and business management tools and to use them, where possible, with reference to pharmacy.

Traditional lectures.
SYLLABUS/CONTENT
The firts part of te course is an introduction about companies definition and typologies. We proceed to the description of main companies' functions (accounting, finance, strategic planning, marketing, operations, HRM). We then focus on the specificities of service companies and SMEs.

Assessment methods
The student should demonstrate his comprehension of theoretical models and of the technical language. He also should be able to argument his assertions with examples and to solve basic case studies.
