OVERVIEW
The course tackles issues of methods for the study of contemporary art with particular attention to research from recent decades and specifically performance practices and intermediality. Critics, artists and scholars of the sector will be involved in the course. Theoretical reflection will be integrated by the workshop Corpi e parole. AIMS AND CONTENT
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By dealing with general issues and specific themes in relation to 20th century and present day art , the course aims to give students the necessary methodological tools to conduct specialised studies in the sector of contemporary art.

Lectures with multimedia materials to facilitate debate on themes tackled. External study trips and meetings with artists and experts are envisaged.

Assessment methods
The exam will be oral; students must present an analysis in the form of a dissertation with images, notes and specific bibliographical references on a topic tackled in the course (editorial guidelines for drafting this document will be made available on Aulaweb).
Materials for lectures will be made available to registered students at the end of the course and on Aulaweb.
To pass the exam students must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of methodological issues that orient a mindful study of contemporary art, with reference to the indicated bibliography and materials shown during lectures; to attain a higher evaluation students must demonstrate precise, personal and motivated understanding of the contents learned and use of reference bibliography in English; to attain excellence students must demonstrate marked critical ability.
