OVERVIEW

The course introduces the student in the language of music and also deepens a historical journey

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The program includes two areas of study. The first aims to provide a series of theoretical-practical notions suggesting some strategies for a basic musical literacy aimed at teaching: in this perspective the students will be approached to the reading of music and to the identification of graphic signs in a musical score. They will also investigate acoustic elements and will be able to see and hear some musical instruments up close. The second sector is aimed at a historical contextualization of musical events. A broad history of music will therefore be proposed with attention to historical periods and to the main authors. We will talk about forms and above all we will give the critical tools to be able to use correctly the current musical terms, from sonata to symphony, from quartet to concert. Numerous listening is planned in the classroom.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The primary objective is to provide future teachers with a knowledge base that allows them to deal with music in the classroom in a conscious and non-amateur way, as often happens. At the same time, stimulate to know the history of music by inserting it in the more general historical-cultural context.

Teaching methods

The course includes lectures, watching music videos and direct knowledge of the instruments with the intervention in the classroom for various musicians of the Conservatory
