GEODYNAMICS
AIMS AND CONTENT
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The course regards the geological features at large scale, the evolution in both time and space og orogenic regions and the main geodynamic environments. During the course will be described the main features of the Ligurian Alps and of the Alpine-Apenninic system, and the most relevant features of the geodynamic evolution of the western Mediterranean.
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
The aim of the course is that the students acquire useful knowledge to understand the geodynamic evolution of a given region / state. At the end of the course the student will be able to reconstruct the geodynamic evolution of an orogene through the reconstruction of synoptic-tables, synthesis of tectonic, stratigraphic, petrographic, geophysical, paleontological, geochemical, geochronological, metamorphic and magmatic data of any area.
PREREQUISITES
It is essential to have a good knowledge base and to be able to develop the concept of synthesis. Predisposition to bibliographic research and its critical and synthetic analysis.
Teaching methods
Lectures and exercises in the classroom.
