TECHNOLOGICAL DESIGN OF GREEN ARCHITECTURE
OVERVIEW
Considering the importance of technology and environmental sustainability for the design of (vegetated) open areas and buildings, the course aims at deepening the relation between design and technology, through the study of systems for the integration of vegetation in architecture and the use of natural elements for climate and environmental control.
AIMS AND CONTENT
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The aim is to provide the tools for facing a design project considering technological and environmental aspects (as limited sources, pollution, etc.)
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
The module “Progettazione tecnologica del verde in Architettura” (Technology design for the integration of vegetation in architecture) aims at deepening the relation between design and technology, through the study of systems for the integration of vegetation in architecture, the design of small structures and the use of natural elements for climate and environmental control. The aim is to provide the tools for facing a design project considering technological and environmental aspects (as limited sources, pollution, etc.).
Teaching methods
The course includes lectures, also involving experts. Small exercises and project visits allow deepening the main topics.
SYLLABUS/CONTENT
The main topic of the module module “Progettazione tecnologica del verde in Architettura” (Technology design for the integration of vegetation in architecture) are: vegetation and architecture, aesthetic aspects, design and technology, requirements and performances, green areas and green infrastructure for the control of microclimate and reduction of environmental and ecological imbalances, the choice of plant species considering the performances obtainable, green roofs and vertical greening systems, economic and environmental sustainability, building structures, energy and environment, analysis of small structures (wood, bamboo, steel, glass) and the use of natural elements for climate and environmental control, the relation between design, energy and environment in architecture.
